Latest Sermon

Mary's Surrender

Date: Dec 01, 2024
Speaker: David Geldart
Passages: Luke 1:26-45

This first sermon of Advent emphasizes lessons from Mary's life, highlighting her role as a servant of the Lord and her defining attitude of surrender. It underscores the Christmas story as one of ultimate surrender, beginning with Jesus' humble birth and Mary's acceptance of God's plan despite potential shame. We also draw a parallel between Mary's surrender and Jesus' surrender in Gethsemane, suggesting He learned this from His mother. All believers are called likewise to prepare for radical obedience and to consider their legacy of surrender.

We are a

Family

We believe that at its core, the church is supposed to be a family. So at Tru, we aim to live out the call to love one another as Christ loves us within the context of genuine relationships. Here, you are not just part of a congregation, but embraced as a beloved member of our spiritual family. We are guided by the biblical mandate to build each other up and bear each other's burdens, creating a community that reflects the love and unity of the Body of Christ. Join us as we grow together in faith, support one another, and shine Christ's light in our broader community.

"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."

Ephesians 2:8-10

We are

Imperfect People

We embrace the beautiful truth that we are imperfect people, covered by God’s unending grace through the Gospel of Jesus. We are both deeply loved just as we are and also being continually healed and transformed by the Holy Spirit's power into greater Christlikeness. We are on this journey together. Come walk this path of grace and growth with us, supporting one another in love with grace and truth.

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Matthew 28:19-20

We reach out by

Serving and Sharing

Because God first loved us, we respond by loving Him and loving one another. We serve and share the love of Jesus, embodying His grace and compassion in our daily lives. Serving and sharing are not just activities; they are integral to our connection with God and with one another. Through service, we live out our

faith in tangible ways, becoming the hands and feet of Christ in our community. Sharing His love also strengthens our bonds as a family in Christ, fostering deeper relationships and spiritual growth. Together, we play our part in the body of Christ. Join us as we make His love known, both within our church and beyond.
